Lueck grew up on the farm, doing work (1959-1968) with the cows, hay bales, and driving tractor. In 1965 he started working at Direct Service Gas Station where he was a Service Station Attendant until 1966. In 1966, he started working at Aitkin Iron Works as a Welding & Machinist Apprentice until 1968.
